DJ Hoskins — Men's Basketball
Freshman guard DJ Hoskins (Dayton, Ohio // Victory Rock Prep) contributed phenomenal play in the 71-66 win over Indiana Tech Saturday (Dec. 30) afternoon. Hoskins earned his career-high 21 points in his 33 minutes of action while going 8-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. He was named Meijer "Player of the Game" following the conclusion of the contest.
Hoskins added four assists, four steals, two rebounds and a block, as well.
The Cardinals will return to action on Thursday (Jan. 4) against Purdue Northwest in the first GLIAC matchup of 2018. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. in O'Neill Arena.
Kaitlyn Geers — Women's Basketball
Freshman forward Kaitlyn Geers (Kent City, Mich. // Kent City HS) earns back-to-back SVSU athlete of the week honors for her team high efforts in the loss against Lewis University Saturday (Dec. 30) afternoon. Geers ended the night leading the Cardinals with 10 points, four boards and one block, earning herself the "Meijer" player of the game.
The Cardinals will return to GLIAC play Thursday (Jan. 4) night agianst Purdue Northwest at 6 p.m. in O'Neill Arena.
